Recently, a series of seemingly candid photos featuring Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor sparked widespread attention online. Shared across social media, these images showed the stars in what appeared to be relaxed party settings and even in bikinis — and many users initially assumed they were real. However, scrutiny quickly followed, and digital experts, including the AI tool Grok, flagged the visuals as manipulated or AI-generated rather than authentic snapshots from an actual gathering.
The viral posts claimed to capture Deepika, who just turned 40 on January 5, celebrating her birthday with close friends Alia and Shraddha. In the purported images, Deepika was seen in a yellow and black outfit, casually holding a cigarette, while the trio lounged together as if at a private celebration. But upon inspection, none of the actresses shared these pictures on their verified social media accounts, and no other credible sources corroborated that such a party took place.
When the AI chatbot Grok was asked to assess the photos, it identified inconsistencies — including odd timestamps and telltale artifacts typical of AI-generated content — and labelled the viral images misleading. “These images appear to be AI-generated or edited. There’s no verified reports of Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Shraddha Kapoor attending a birthday party together on Jan 5, 2026,” it stated, underscoring that the pictures were not genuine.
In reality, Deepika marked her birthday earlier with fans at a separate “meet and greet” event in Mumbai in December before heading on vacation with her husband, Ranveer Singh. The viral photos claiming to show her alleged intimate celebration with fellow actresses were not accurate.
