Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most auspicious festivals for Hindus, and marks the onset of the festive season for people across the country. While many were excited to welcome the Bappa for this ten-day festival, several took a step ahead and installed some of the best themed decorations.
With people across Maharashtra welcoming their favourite Ganpati Bappa
home, India's first Marathi Music Channel 9X Jhakaas brought an exciting contest for its viewers, fans and followers. We are glad to announce that Nagpur’s Isha Barapatre has won the contest this year.
Isha installed decorations themed around the Nagpur Metro train which was operational from 2019. During a recent interaction, she revealed the inspiration behind this year’s Ganesh Idol decoration.
She said, “Nagpur Metro has some of the most iconic locations like the double-decker pool of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj square, Freedom Park, and now the government has started a new project as well, these locations impressed me. Apart from the construction, the cleanliness adds another elegant touch to the city. Despite the Covid-19 situation, it has been really great and I guess that is what inspired me.”
Isha Barapatre was overwhelmed to win the contest. Expressing her joy, she said, “Frankly, I was totally surprised” and mentioned that it was quite an unexpected moment for her.
This year’s 9X Jhakaas Bappa Contest saw overwhelming response from people across Maharashtra and they shared the pictures of Ganpati Bappa idols in their homes.
