Television actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Pavitra Punia has come out in strong support of actress Mouni Roy, who has recently been targeted by online trolls over alleged plastic surgery rumours. Pavitra directly addressed the negativity circulating on social media and slammed those mocking Mouni for her appearance.
Taking to social media, Pavitra shared a video that featured a photo of Mouni Roy from the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Through the post, she expressed her anger over how actors are being subjected to constant trolling and baseless assumptions regarding cosmetic procedures.
In the video, Pavitra criticized the trend of “double-meaning” captions and suggested that media pages often fuel such speculation to increase engagement. She also questioned why people feel entitled to comment on actors’ personal choices.
Pavitra strongly reacted to repeated trolling comments about surgery, saying, “Firstly to those who love to troll… saying ‘that they have gotten a surgery done, 500 surgeries they have done, 1 lakh surgeries they have undergone…’ Those 1 lakh were not taken from you, and we don't come to you for suggestions.”
She further added, “At least some people in the industry still say that yes, we are doing that, and if you want to do that, if your family wants to do that, please go ahead, spend the money and do it. Don't troll. Just shut up.”
Pavitra also wrote a bold caption on her post, stating, “Kuch to sharam bachi hogi , ya sirf trolling ki he salary milti hai tum logon ko bhai.”
Mouni Roy has often faced similar criticism in the past regarding alleged cosmetic enhancements. Pavitra’s remarks come as another strong voice against online trolling culture in the entertainment industry.
