Filmmaker Sajid Khan was injured on a Mumbai film set over the weekend when he suffered an accident during a shoot for a project backed by Ekta Kapoor. According to reports, Khan fractured his foot during the incident on Saturday, prompting immediate medical attention and his subsequent hospitalisation.
Doctors decided that surgery was necessary, and Sajid was taken into the operating theatre on Sunday. The procedure was completed without complications, and he is now recovering under medical supervision. His sister, acclaimed filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, spoke to the media after the operation, confirming the outcome and offering reassurance to fans and well-wishers. “The surgery is done, he is absolutely fine now,” she said, emphasising that his condition is stable and that he is on the mend.
Sajid’s accident came at a time when he was gearing up for a return to directing after a long hiatus. He last helmed the comedy Humshakals in 2014, and before that had made his mark with films such as Darna Zaroori Hai and the commercially successful Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Housefull 2.
The news of his injury and recovery has drawn attention across the industry, with many colleagues and fans expressing relief at the positive update. Sajid was recently seen at family gatherings, including cousin Zoya Akhtar’s Christmas party, where he appeared in good spirits just days before the accident. While there’s no word yet on when production will resume on the current project, Sajid’s focus for now remains on rest and recuperation.
