Last month, rumours swirled that actress Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja were expecting their second child — and now the actress has officially confirmed the news. On Thursday, Sonam Kapoor revealed her pregnancy via Instagram, posting photos in which she proudly flaunts her baby bump. She captioned the post simply, “Mother.”
The response was swift and heartwarming. Bollywood stars flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages. Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Congratulations ❤️,” while Parineeti Chopra — a new mother this year — added, “Congrats mamacitaaa (sic).” Even Kareena Kapoor Khan joined in, commenting, “Sona and Anand ❤️❤️❤️.”
Sonam and Anand married in May 2018, and in August 2022, they welcomed a baby boy, whom they named Vayu. While glimpses of their son have been shared, Sonam has not yet revealed his face publicly.
Now, Vayu is set to become a big brother. The family — including veteran actor Anil Kapoor, known affectionately as “Nanu” in the Kapoor household — are surely brimming with excitement over the new addition.
As for Sonam’s career, she currently has no projects on the horizon. Her most recent film, Blind, released on an OTT platform, received mostly negative reviews.
