The personal security officer (PSO) of Tamil actor Suriya, Anthony George Prabhu, was allegedly cheated of ₹42 lakh by the actor’s domestic help, Sulochana, and her son. Reports say that the accused family had duped several individuals across Chennai, with the total amount involved reaching nearly ₹2 crore.
According to India Today, Prabhu was drawn into an investment scheme by Sulochana and her son. To gain his trust, they initially returned 30 grams of gold in exchange for his investment of ₹1 lakh. Convinced by this gesture, Prabhu went ahead and transferred roughly ₹42 lakh between January and February of this year.
When he asked for his money back in March, the accused stopped responding and reportedly went into hiding. During ensuing investigations, police discovered that the same modus operandi had been used to target others, swindling large sums.
A complaint was officially filed in July, after which law enforcement registered an FIR and launched searches. Four members of the domestic helper’s family—named as Balaji, Bhaskar, Sulochana, and Vijayalakshmi—were later located and arrested. They are now in judicial custody.
Once the deception emerged, Suriya immediately terminated the services of his domestic help. The actor has otherwise maintained silence on the matter. Meanwhile, the police investigation continues, seeking to identify other victims of the fraudulent scheme.
