Actor Vijay Deverakonda, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kingdom, has reportedly been hospitalised. The actor has been diagnosed with dengue and is expected to remain under medical supervision for the next few days. His film, Kingdom, also starring Bhagyashree Borse and Satyadev, is scheduled to release on July 31.

According to a report in India Today, Vijay’s family has rushed to be with him during his hospital stay. The actor is currently undergoing treatment and recuperating, with doctors expecting to discharge him in the coming days. So far, neither Vijay nor his team has made any official statement regarding his health.

Despite his illness, Vijay had been actively promoting Kingdom before being hospitalised. The film promises to present the actor in a never-seen-before avatar, set against the intense backdrop of the post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil conflict. The movie is packed with action and showcases Vijay embarking on a gory quest. Bhagyashree Borse plays his romantic interest, while Satyadev has a key role. Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, Kingdom was initially slated for release on May 30, then postponed to July 4, and is now finally set to hit theatres on July 31.

However, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the actor. Vijay has also been embroiled in multiple legal controversies over the past few weeks. In June, he was booked under the SC/ST Act for controversial remarks made at a Hyderabad event in April. Commenting on India-Pakistan tensions, Vijay had said, “India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. They behave like tribals did 500 years ago, fighting without common sense.” His comments sparked outrage among the tribal community.

Additionally, earlier this month, Vijay was booked in connection with an illegal betting app scam. He was accused of promoting malicious betting platforms and misleading the youth.
