Raima Sen starrer film Sitara is all set to be released on July 19. The film directed by Ashish Roy. The film, based on the popular novel ‘Bhorer Proshuti’, is about a helpless village girl who was dragged into prostitution.

Raima Sen starrer film Sitara is all set to be released on July 19. The film directed by Ashish Roy has huge star cast of M. Naser, Subrat Dutta, Meghna Naidu, Fajlul Rahman Babu and Jahed Hasan.

But before its release, the director explains why this film is close to his heart. He said that he wanted to make a film on a different subject. “To make it close to reality I have event shot in Mekhliganj which is close to the border. I wanted to show the actual picture of smuggling in these areas,” said Roy to The Times of India.

The film is based on the popular novel ‘Bhorer Proshuti’. The film is about a helpless village girl who was dragged into prostitution. The plot is based on the backdrop of India-Bangladesh border and the illegal garments business in the area.

Raima will play the titular role in ‘Sitara’. The versatile actress has always impressed the audience to play a wide range of characters over the years. 

Meanwhile, the Bengali beauty will also be seen in Bollywood film ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’. The film directed by Preeti Singh and Raima will share the screen with Vinay Pathak and Salim Diwan.

Raima will be essaying the role of Aliya. Salim Diwan will play a drug peddler role and Vinay Pathak essays the role of an ex-cop.
