Aparna Sen’s Ghawre Bairey Aaj To Be Screened At The Prestigious International Film Festival Of Rotterdam
Director Aparna Sen’s Ghawre Bairey Aaj will be screened at the prestigious international film festival of Rotterdam. SVF Entertainment made the announcement on social media. The film stars Jisshu Sengupta, Tuhina Das and Anirban Bhattacharya. The film talks about the current socio-political situation of the nation.

SVF Entertainment tweeted, “It is a pleasure to announce that @senaparna's #GhawreBaireyAaj is to be screening at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam.”

The original novel was set in pre-independent India in the time of Bengal’s partition but Aparna Sen has shifted the story to the current time. The story has three central characters Nikhilesh, his wife Bimala and his revolutionist friend Sandip. Sandip has a contradictory nature compared to Nikhilesh, he is more radical and active and Bimala gets easily attracted towards him for this. It leads to an extramarital love triangle.

It is a modern-day adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic novel Ghare Baire. The trailer opens with Tuhina Das introducing herself as the wife of Anirban Bhattacharya. The couple does love each other but Anirban also loves his work and sometimes takes it very seriously. Jisshu Sengupta is Anirban’s friend who comes to meet him and slowly becomes close to Tuhina. Then the trailer also shows protests scenes that involved all the three. Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s novel Ghawre Bairey, this film captures the political and personal distress and tensions between two friends-turned-adversaries, amidst the tribulations of today’s world. The first look poster of the movie had been released. The poster shows socio-political turmoil introducing Nikhilesh, Bimala and Sandip played by Anirban Bhattacharya, Tuhina Das, and Jisshu Sengupta respectively.
