The sudden outbreak of novel coronavirus across the globe has left many people unemployed especially junior technicians and workers of the film industry. And to provide financial relief to the daily wagers of the entertainment industry, Tollywood superstars have come together for a short film titled ‘Jhhar Themey Jabe Ekdin’. 

Conceptualised by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the short film focuses on the spreading awareness about the coronavirus. Virtually directed by Arindam, the film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Dev, Rituparna Sengupta , Koel Mallick, Paran Bandhopadhyay, Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Saswata Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrut Jahan, Subhashree Ganguly, Rukmini Maitra and Priyanka Sarkar. 


The film has been shot at actors home and then edited. The song lyrics are written by CM Mamata Banerjee herself. The actors in the film have urged people to stay at home and remain safe so that we all can fight against the coronavirus. 

The film shows Rukmini Maitra’s father is sick and there is no one to take care of him. How the other actors have helped her in reaching to her father along with maintaining social distancing.

Recently, Bollywood also released a short film on similar concept. Till now, lakhs of people have lost their lives and many are affected. India has extended its lockdown till May 3 for the safety of the people.
