Director Subhrajit Mitra next film ‘Avijatrik-The Wanderlust Within’ is very special and it has all the reasons. The film teaser was released at the Kolkata Literature Festival. The film stars Arjun Chakrabarty as Apu in the lead role. The film Avijatrik is based on the last part of Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay's Aparajito and the film will take you back in time.

But what is special about the film is that Sitar Mastro Anushka Shankar has played the opening title track of the film. The film is produced by Madhur Bhandarkar and Gaurang Jalan. And Anoushka says that this is a tribute to her father, the late pandit Ravi Shankar, by playing the sitar for Avijatrik's title credits. 


Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arpita Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Diripriya Roy, Ayushman Mukherjee, Sohag Sen, Tanusree Shankar, Barun Chanda, Biswanath Basu, Rupanjana Mitra, Shubhro. S. Das, Ishaan Mazumder, Antasheela Ghosh, Jagriti Jalan will be seen in the pivotal roles.

The teaser opens up with the introduction of Arjun Chakrabarty and his son. In the video, Apu is travelling with his son and showing him the world. In this journey, they meet many people who eventually become part of their travel and give them different memory.

The storyline is based on the concluding part of, Aparajito, by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. In the film, Apu will relive his childhood through the eyes of his son, visiting Benaras and his village Nischindipur. The film starts where Satyajit Ray's Apu trilogy ended. Abhijatrik will take Apu's story forward.
