The film is a modern-day fairy tale love story between a man and a mermaid. In the film, a man named as Bhotbhoti is a young guy living in a slum area named Jahajbasti nearby the Ganges. He collects coins thrown in the river and also works as an assistant at a burning ghat. He has a fantasy that there is a mermaid who lives in the river.
Actor Rishav Basu will make his film debut as the leading man Bhotbhoti. Actress Bibriti Chatterjee will be seen in her first lead role-playing the character of the mermaid.
Director Tathagata Mukherjee and his real-life wife and actress Debleena Dutt Mukherjee will also be there as part of the cast. The shooting for the film is scheduled to begin from the last week of August at different locations of Kolkata, Purulia, Jhargram, and Bolepur.
