Datta: Rituparna Sengupta Starrer Film To Resume Its Shooting From November
Nirmal Chakraborty is finally going to begin the shooting of his next directorial Datta after five months. The shooting will begin from November of this year. The film got delayed as Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed was not permitted to visit India.

Now, it is even doubtful that Ferdous will be part of this film or not. Ferdous, who is essaying the role of Bilash in the film, was in India to shoot for Datta in April.  The film got stuck when Ferdous during his April visit was seen at a political rally where he campaigned for a TMC candidate. Following which the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) blacklisted him from visiting India.  After the incident, the film has been on hold.

Based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel, Datta is a romantic story.  It revolves around an affluent Brahmo woman and an indigent but brilliant a Hindu young man. This is Nirmal Chakraborty’s first film direction. The star cast includes stars Joy Sengupta, Biswajeet Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta.

Chakraborty has designed the costumes and the props, keeping in mind the particular period. The director reportedly researched for seven to eight months before he started shooting.
