Datta: Shaheb Chatterjee Replaces Ferdous Ahmed In Nirmal Chakraborty's Film
Reports are surfacing that there is a change in the star cast of Nirmal Chakraborty's Datta. The film shooting was supposed to start in November. 

The film got delayed as Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed was not permitted to visit India.

Ferdous Ahmed was the lead actor and now he has been replaced by Shaheb Chatterjee. 

Ferdous, who was essaying the role of Bilash in the film, was in India to shoot for Datta in April.  The film got stuck when Ferdous during his April visit was seen at a political rally where he campaigned for a TMC candidate. Following which the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) blacklisted him from visiting India.  After the incident, the film has been on hold.

Based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel, Datta is a romantic story.  It revolves around an affluent Brahmo woman and an indigent but brilliant a Hindu young man. This is Nirmal Chakraborty’s first film direction. The star cast includes stars Joy Sengupta, Biswajeet Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta.
