Maaya Kumari: Arindam Sil Begins Journey Of His Next Film, Shares Pictures Of Script Reading Moments
Arindam Sil is all set to pay tribute to Bengali cinema which has completed 100 years. He will be directing a film titled as Maayakumari and the first look of it has also been released. Abir Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta will be seen in the lead role. Maaya Kumari is based on the story of the top actress of 40’s. 

Bankrolled by Camellia Productions, pictures of the script reading were shared recently. “The journey of #Maayakumari begins! Here are a few moments from the script reading session!.”




A news website reported the story is about Maayakumari a famous actress from The 1940s. She had formed a successful pair with director and actor Kanan Kumar. But all of sudden when Maayakumari was in the peak of her career she decided to leave films to live a secluded life along with her husband. There were a lot of speculations about her sudden decision but there was no conclusive answer. Later in 2008, she died a mysterious death. Much later in 2018, a young director decides to make a film on the life of Maayakumari and Kanan Kumar. During the course of making his film, much of the mysteries from the past will be unfolded.
Actress Rituparna Sengupta will be seen playing the title role of Maayakumari. It will be her first collaboration with director Arindam Sil. Arindam’s favourite actor Abir Chatterjee will be seen in a double role as Kanan Kumar and his grandson. Rajatava Dutta will play Maayakumari’s husband. Indrasish Roy will play the character of the director from 2018. Other than them there will be Arunima Ghosh, Saurav Das, Anindita Bose, Falaque Rashid, Ambarish Bhattacharya and Joydeep Kundu in other significant characters.

As reported, Maya Kumari will deal with two timelines. It will cover all the legends of Bengali cinema from Uttam Kumar to Prosenjit Chatterjee. 
Arindam last release Mitin Mashi was also well appreciated as the film deals with women empowerment and also showed Koel Mallick as detective which is not so common in our culture.
