This is first time Kaushik Ganguly is working under Shiboproad-Nandita's production house. His son Ujaan had debuted under the same banner in Rosogolla.

This will be Ujaan's second movie after his super hit debut in Rosogolla last December. The film narrates the story of the invention of Rosogolla. Nobin Chandra Das's father dies soon after Nobin's birth and the faces financial crisis. Nobin decides to become a sweet maker. His love interest (later wife) Khirodmoni suggests and inspires him to invent a new type of sweet. After years of hard work and multiple failures, Nobin invents Rosogolla. This invention makes him famous in West Bengal.
Kaushik Ganguly last release was Jyeshthoputro and features Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Gargi Roychowdhury. The original story of the film was conceived by Rituparno Ghosh. In this film Prosenjit and Ritwik shared the screen for the first time.
