Many celebs came out in her support and criticised the society for this. Noted lyricist Javed Akhtar also took her support.
However, this is not the first time Nusrat has been trolled. Earlier, when she took the oath at the Parliament, she was trolled for applying sindoor on her head despite being Muslim.
Nusrat had replied that she represents an "inclusive India". Notably, Nusrat contested from Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal and won by 3,50,369 votes.
On the work front, she will be next seen in Asur with Abir Chatterjee and Jeet. The trailer of the movie has been released and is being appreciated.
