Nusrat Jahan Urges Fans to Extend Support For Assam Flood Victims
Actress turned politician Nusrat Jahan has urged everyone to help the victims of Assam floods. It is to be noted here that the flood situation remains critical in many districts of Assam.  Rescue and relief measures are on by various agencies.

She took to her official Twitter handle and wrote, “My heart goes out to every life in Assam. Let’s come together during this situation caused by natural calamities. #StandForAssam.”


As per the source, many areas of Kaziranga forest have drowned which is affecting the wild animal's lives there. 

Flood water has affected 53 lakh people in 30 districts. Over one lakh displaced people are taking shelter at government-run relief camps. As reported, many crop areas have been damaged. 327 relief camps have been set up.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also telephoned Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and took stock of the situation in the state. Sonowal briefed the PM on all relief and rescue operations that have been pressed into service.

Meanwhile, Nusrat Jahan was trolled for wearing sindoor (worn by Hindu women) and sari while taking oath in the Parliament. After being badly trolled, Nusrat Jahan had said that she represents an "inclusive India".

Notably, Nusrat contested from Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal and won by 3,50,369 votes.
