There is good news for Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy as their movie Konttho will now be made in Malayam. The news was reported by The Times of India. The film revolves around the life and struggle of a cancer survivor.

Arjun Mallik is a famous radio jockey. His listeners are fond of about his voice. His wife, Pritha is also a voice artist. Suddenly Arjun is diagnosed with Laryngeal cancer. He meets a speech therapist, Romilla and learns to speak with Esophageal voice. He cannot speak but improvises himself. This is a story of the struggle of a cancer patient and his undaunted human spirit.

Malayalam filmmaker Rajesh Nair will make the film and will soon start shooting. Jayasurya will essay the protagonist in the film. However, this is not first time that Nair has associated with the director duo.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s latest release was Gotro. Gotro deals with the evils of the caste system, which is still prevalent in society. It also refers to the recent rise of communal sentiment and conflict caused by various divisive ideologies in the country.

The story is about a Hindu aged woman and her Muslim caretaker. They are from different religious background and culture but still they share an emotional bonding like a mother and son. Their bonding in the film has put up a question that is it really necessary to belong from same religion, same Gotro to be emotionally connected with someone?
