Director Anup Sengupta is celebrating his birthday today and actor Prosenjit Chatterjee has wished him on the social media. Fans and celebs have flooded the social media with wishes for the ace director.

“Wishing you a fabulous birthday my director, #AnupSengupta. We both had given many Silver and Golden jubilee films together, like Mayer Anchal and Poribar. Thank you and loads of love,” Prosenjit tweeted.


Prosenjit and Anup had worked many films together. They had given many hit movies. The films Sengupta has directed include Bangla Banchao, Pratidwandi, Mama Bhagne, Gharjamai and several others. He made his directorial debut in 1989 with the film, 'Asha'.

Meanwhile, Prosenjit will be next seen in Srijit Mukherji’s Gumnaami. The film is expected to be released in Puja this year. The movie has hit headlines ever since it has been announced.

Srijit Mukherji has started promotion of his controversial movie Gumnaami based on a legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.  



The teaser of the movie was released and it a man sitting with his face towards a wall filled with newspaper cuttings on Bose’s various international adventures and undertakings on his way to free India from the clutches of the British. There is also a locked suitcase and a lantern. The presence of the locked suitcase perhaps refers to the several notes and documents that were found after the death of Gumnami Baba.
