Bollywood singer-composer Wajid Khan passed away in the early hours of Monday in a Mumbai hospital. He was suffering from a kidney infection and was 42 years-old. Music composer Salim Merchant has confirmed the death of Wajid. The music composer was hospitalised at Surana Hospital a few days ago.
Salim said, "He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection... He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse.”
Bollywood celebrities mourn Wajid Khan’s death and took to their social handle to express their condolences to bereaving family.
Rituparna Sengupta also wrote, “Couldn't believe the news. Such a great loss to the Indian Film & Music industry. May his soul rest in peace & music! @wajidkhan7 you will be missed & remembered forever!”
Ram Kamal Mukherjee also mourned Wajid Khan’s death, “Is it true that #WajidKhan passed away due to cardiac arrest and not Covid19? My deepest condolences to his family members. Tough time, horrible phase that we all are going through. He was too young to go. You will live in music.”
Recently, two Bollywood actors Irffan Khan and Rishi Kapoor has passed away. Wajid Khan was known for his work in movie Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Garv, Tere Naam, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Partner and the popular Dabangg franchise.
