He came into notice with his Hoichoi TV series Byomkesh. Then came his foray into the silver screen, with Jawker Dhan, Alinagarer Golokdhadha and the Durga Puja 2019 hit Satyanweshi Byomkesh. Now Sayantan Ghosal has announced the release date of his next film, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan. The film, which is a sequel to his 2017 release Jawker Dhan, is set to release on 6th December 2019. Produced by Surinder Films, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Koel Mallick in leading roles. Gaurav Chakrabarty also has an important role in the film. Sayantan Ghosal says that his Jawker Dhan series is a tribute to Indiana Jones.


It is a known fact for Bangla film afficionados that director Sayantan Ghosal loves adventure films. He has set the stage bigger for Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan. Most of the film was shot in various locations of Thailand, including forests, caves and mountains. The visual effects and stunts are also expected to be stunning. The motion poster of the film was released on 22nd October and has received appreciation from fans.



In the words of Sayantan Ghosal, the Jawker Dhan series is his tribute to the legendary Indiana Jones. “Alfred Hitchcock and Steven Spielberg have been huge influences on me. I envisioned my Jawker Dhan series as a tribute to Spielberg’s masterfully portrayed Indiana Jones films. I love his films,” says the young director. He admits that making adventure films are tough, but his love and passion have kept him going.
