The Departure: Adil Hussain, Paoli Dam Starrer Win Audience Choice Award At Las Vegas Queer Arts Festival
Pratim D Gupta directed a short film ‘The Departure’ has won Audience Choice Award at the recently held Las Vegas Queer Arts Festival. The film stars Paoli Dam and Adil Hussain in the lead roles. This was second movie of the Paoli and Adil after Ahare Mon which was also directed by Pratim D Gupta.

Pratim tweeted, “Meanwhile, the Adil Hussain-Paoli Dam story from Ahare Mon, The Departure, continues to win hearts at film festivals everywhere, including the Las Vegas Queer Arts Festival where it won the Audience Choice Award.”


The short film traces an unusual relationship between Paoli and an immigration officer, played by Adil Hussain, in a society still struggling with caste, age and sexual orientation.
Adil and Paoli were seen in Ahare Mon also. The film is a romantic drama that revolves around people who are otherwise forbidden to fall in love. Anjan Dutt and Mamata Shankar plays two members of an old age home who elope and embark on an adventure of a lifetime.

Meanwhile, Pratim D Gupta has announced his next directorial venture-a film titled Love Aaj Kal Porshu which will star Arjun Chakraborty, Madhumita Sarkar in the lead role. Love Aaj Kaal Porshu will be a modern-day love story. It will show the changing dynamics of man-woman relationships against a riveting backdrop.
