It is quite overwhelming to see the fashion industry finally do away with the notion that skinny is pretty. For years together, the ideology of plus size women being considered as misfits in the world of fashion was considered to be the apt notion. But finally, we have walked away with it and today, we see several plus size women confidently taking to the ramp. However, it is quite saddening to see that in spite of coming this far, plus size women get body shamed and that too by a well-known designer.
It happened during a recent interview with Good Times where Falguni Peacock was asked as to what advice would she give to plus size women and she said, I won't blatantly tell her to lose weight, but you have enough time and you can work on yourself. It is pretty easy to lose a couple of inches if you want to.” Further, when she was asked as to what advice would she give to a bride who is unable to lose weight. She replied, "Long blouses, more flared lehengas and not fitted because fitted won't really work when you’re a little big. No deep necks for them maybe more higher." This didn't go down well with several people and even the video has been pulled down.

The lady addressed the controversy at length and spoke about how she was disappointed to see this happen. Amber Qureshi also spoke about her brand Plum Tree in the interview. Coming back to the controversy, so far, neither Sara nor Falguni Peacock have further spoken up about the controversy.
