COVID-19: Celina Jaitly Says From Austria, 'I've Been Following PM Modiji’s Ayurvedic Immunity Building Advice’- EXCLUSIVE
Celina Jaitly is in Austria with her husband and children. The COVID-19 pandemic has created immense stress throughout the world and is unlikely to stop anytime soon. We got in touch with the actress and spoke to her about how she's dealing with the tough times.

Here are the excerpts from our conversation:

Hope you and your family are safe in Austria. How is the situation out there?
Like most countries around the world even an Alpine paradise like Austria is pretty much amidst the European eye of the storm. The Austrian Federal Government has reacted promptly and implemented extensive measures to contain the spread of the virus.
In addition to flight bans, border controls and border closings, extensive restrictions in public life have been implemented throughout the whole of Austria. Schools and universities are closed or offer e-learning courses. Shops remain closed (with exceptions such as food retailers). Also, restaurants are closed. All events are prohibited. No more than five people should gather in one place at the same time. The population is urged to stay in and leave their homes only if necessary.

India and many other countries have been locked down and the Government is urging us to not step out. What is your routine there like?
Besides the regular routine of work related emails/calls and caring for the kids, trying out new things is an excellent way to pass time and help you learn and grow. From learning a foreign language to cooking and trying out new international dishes, catching up on reading my favourite classics and horrifying my kids with school time dance routines, we have also been a lot out in nature on long walks in the deep Alpine forests. It’s been very refreshing and soulful.

Being a mother, what special precautions are you taking to ensure the safety of your children?
3 little ones definitely give you lots of reasons to be stressed with the COVID-19 Monster. I have been following our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s Ayurvedic immunity building advice for the whole family diligently. In addition to fresh fruits, veggies and extra doses of Vitamin C is also being adhered too. We are very conscious eaters anyway and our recent turn to vegetarianism has also been very good for the family.

Do you miss being in India right now with your family?
I always miss India. I am a diehard patriot coming from 4 generations of Armed forces. I specifically miss my grandmother Dr Francis in Lucknow. I was really looking forward to the publicity tour of my forthcoming film Seasons Greetings- A Tribute to Rituporno Ghosh, which obviously also bore the brunt of the virus.

How are you keeping yourself connected to take updates on your family and friends?
Luckily, we live in the era of information technology and social media, so being connected obviously has no issues.
It is also good to see how people are genuinely having conversations with their loved ones instead of sending random posts and messages on Facebook and WhatsApp.

What do you have to say about the Indian government’s measures to fight COVID-19?
India is not only geographically massive but population-wise it is a definitely a ginormous subcontinent. Managing a massive country like this in such a pandemic must be quite a challenge. We Indians are lucky to face this crisis under a strong leadership. The country has responded with great urgency and determination as reflected in our Prime Minister's bold and decisive leadership. Thank God for that.
