EXCLUSIVE! Bunty Aur Babli 2: Rani Mukerji On Comparisons With Abhishek Bachchan Starrer; 'People Would Love To Compare, But Both The Movies Are Different’
In an exclusive chat with SpotboyE.com, Rani Mukerji speaks on Bunty Aur Babli 2 being compared with the first film that had her and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles
Rani Mukerji is currently riding high on the success of her film ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ which has been released today in theatres. The actress is garnering praise for her brilliant performance as Vimmi from the audiences and critics alike. Directed by Varun V. Sharma, the comedy is a sequel of Rani and Abhishek Bachchan’s 2005 blockbuster ‘Bunty Aur Babli.’ While its sequel has managed to impress us, comparisons with the first movie are bound to happen. In an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com, Rani shared her views on comparisons of both the movies and asserted that ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ is a different film.
Rani Mukerji shared with us, “I think comparisons are something that people would like to do. So, there is no point in saying that people should not compare both films. I think that’s something they will do because now on social media there is so much that people can do on daily basis to start a conversation and comparing would be something that they would love to do. But, honestly, we can’t help that but at the same what is important to understand is that Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a different film on its own. It’s not the same movie that was released in 2005.”
She added, “Of Couse, the concept is the same which is about consters who are trying to con people but beyond that, there is no similarity in between both the movies. The old Bunty Aur Babli came in 2005 and it had a different scenario where Rakesh and Vimmi were not digitally savvy. Today, we are talking about 2021 where the millennials are very digitally advanced and are technology savvy. They are doing corns which are different and go with Today’s time. So, these are two different movies. And, I am sure if people want to compare it great, but I think if they enjoy the film as an individual movie they will surely have a blast.”
Bankrolled by Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2 also features Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari Wagh in pivotal roles. The rib-tickling comedy is about two sets of con artists, from different generations, against each other as they try to prove who is better in conning. The film stars Saif and Rani as the OG Bunty Babli. Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi and the gorgeous debutant Sharvari star as the New Bunty Babli.
