Thappad Interview: Taapsee Pannu States, 'Whoever Says They Haven't Seen Or Faced VIOLENCE Of Any Sort Is LYING'- EXCLUSIVE
Anubhav Sinha’s recent release Thappad has stirred up a very important discussion around domestic violence. We see women from different sections of society face their own struggles with their better halves.

So when we sat for a conversation with Taapsee Pannu and Dia Mirza, the ladies spoke about how these incidences happen largely in society and many of them, even behind closed doors. We asked if they have any friend, or any known person who’s undergoing through such a situation, to which Taapsee replied, “Whoever is saying they haven’t seen or faced violence of any sort is definitely lying.”

The actress adds, “Because 80% women have either gone through it or are going through it. 3 out of 5 women are facing this. If it is not happening in your house, then it is happening to your friend or your neighbour. And I don't think anyone under this roof can say that we don't know of any such case.”

Dia says, "Sabke life mein aise log hai jinke saath yeh hua hai." The actresses make a strong point and we agree on it. The actresses also talk about how most men in general would believe that it’s just a slap and the wife needs to forget it and lead her life the way she had been leading it so far.

But that’s the beauty of the film, that Amruta, the character essayed by Taapsee doesn’t treat as merely a slap, and takes a stand for herself right till the end.
