First Day First Show: Force 2 Gets A Thumbs Up From The Public But Demonetization Threatens Box-Office Collection
SpotboyE.com gives an on-the-ground report of the performance of this week's hugely hyped release, John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Force 2
The sequel to John
Abraham's 2011 hit Force is finally out and this time Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir
Raj Bhasin have joined the action-thriller's star cast. And this film too seems
to have fallen prey to the cash crunch being faced by the country, thanks to the
recent demonetization move as the numbers at the theatres were disappointing.
Even though John
Abraham himself was shilling online tickets as a move to counter the cash
crunch, the lines at the ticket counter were thin.
Last week it was
Rock On 2 which was shown the door by the audience. Force 2 also seems to have
been affected as the morning shows had only 15% occupancy, which was still way
better than Rock On 2. (Tum Bin 2 Shows Cancelled Due To Lack Of Audience; Force 2 Gets 15% Occupancy Only!, Nov 18)
Talking about the
film, audiences who came out of the theatres seem to have loved the film. John
as an action star is making his presence felt in a big way. People also
appreciated Tahir's negative role, however, Sonakshi was said to be still in
the Akira hangover.
Force 2, brings back ACP Yashvardhan who teams up with RAW
Agent KK to bring down a terrorist. The sequel directed by
Abhinay Deo promises to pack in as much action as possible in this much awaited action film.
Will the numbers
increase during the weekend? Let's wait and watch.
