Batla House Box-Office Collections Day 1: John Abraham Starrer Manages To Earn 15 Crores

This Independence Day audience was spoilt for choices with the release of Mission Mangal and Batla House together at the box-office. While audience continues to shower praises on Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha and Kriti Kulhari starrer Mission Mangal, John Abraham flick has been receiving rave reviews. The film, which is based on the Batla House encounter which took place in 2008, has managed to attract the movie goers at theaters. Despite it’s big competition with multi-starrer Mission Mangal, John Abraham starrer Balta House earned Rs 14.59 crore on first day at box-office.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers and wrote, “#BatlaHouse fares well on Day 1, although the numbers are affected due to the clash… Gathered momentum post noon onwards… #IndependenceDay holiday gave its biz additional push… Will need to score from Fri-Sun… Thu ₹ 14.59 cr. India biz.”

SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated Batla House with 3.5 stars and wrote, “John Abraham is at his impressive best, sinking into the character like there's no tomorrow. Hmmm... maybe his best performance till date. Watch him in the scene where he says goodbye to his wife Mrunal Thakur in the car. Watch him in the scene where his senior tells him to not refuse the medal of honour. Watch him in the scene where he has a long discussion with Nora Fatehi. The list is long.”

“The action sequences are just finesse and the camerawork, excellent. Advani has done a good job, if you overlook a bit of repitiveness that tends to crop up in patches. The long and short of Batla House is that it is housed well, but yes, could have been cosier,” his review read further.
