Jabariya Jodi Box-Office Collection First Weekend: Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra’s Romantic Flick Struggles To Keep Up
Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s Jabariya Jodi which was released on August 9 received a very cold response from the viewers and critics as well. The film which marked the reunion of Sid and Pari, after Hasee Toh Phasee, failed to create magic with this rom-com. The film which started on a low note has managed to grow during its first weekend. So far, the film has earned Rs. 3.15 on day 1 and Rs. 4.25 on day 2, however, the film got a bit better on day 3.

Ekta Kapoor's production film has managed to mint Rs. 4.60 crores on its first weekend, making the grand total to Rs. 12 crores at the domestic markets. This is strictly average and not at all good for both Sidharth and Parineeti who haven't given a hit in a while. Now we have to see how Jaabriya Jodi passes the Monday litmus test which is considered to be the crucial one anyway. But the film is expected to hold on well today due to the partial holiday of Eid and this will only time will tell.

SpotboyE Editor, Vickey Lalwani rated Jabariya Jodi with 2.5 stars and wrote, “The motive is good but the execution could have been better. Jabariya Jodi, though long and lacking good songs, Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra put their best foot forward in a film that has several hilarious moments but an inconstant pace. So yeah, JJ has its crests as well as troughs. Parineeti Chopra is in her patakha comfort zone and hence could have got complacent, but the Babli of Jabariya Jodi holds herself back and does not allow her performance to go OTT. Sidharth, who needed to deviate here from his usual quintessential aptly-dressed boy, is satisfactory.”

The film has been produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh and apart from the lead cast Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra, it also stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra, Aparshakti Khurana and Chandan Roy Sanyal in pivotal roles. The film had a solo release on August 9 and despite being the only film to release this week, it failed to bring in the audience.
