Khandaani Shafakhana Box-Office Collections Day 2: Sonakshi Sinha And Badshah Starrer Struggles At Ticket Counters Despite A Solo Release
Sonakshi Sinha’s comic outing Khandaani Shafakhana has failed miserably at the box-office and even on day 2, it refused to pick up speed in making monies at the ticket-windows. Opening to figures as low as Rs 75 Lakh, the film continues to show a similar trend even on Day 2. Despite of an unusual topic crafted for the silver screen, which was meant to educate as well as entertain the audience, the movie managed to show merely a 10% hike in the collections.

According to a report in Box Office India, Khandaani Shafakhana made Rs. 85 Lakh on day 2 at the box-office. Totaling the sum up to just Rs. 1.60 Crore, despite of being a solo Bollywood release.  The movie seems to be fizzling out without creating any spark. Last week’s release Arjun Patiala too showed a similar trend at the box-office, failing to impress the audience and struggling to sustain in the cinemas.

Rating the film one-and-a-half star, SpotboyE.com Editor, Vickey Lalwani, too mentioned in his review how Sonakshi should wisely select her films, he wrote, “So, I must say now that it's high time that Shotgun's daughter selects films with a magnifying glass. She came like a whiff of fresh air in Dabangg, was wonderful in Lootera, and then it all fell apart. Seems, films are envisaged to her wrongly and she falls for them. What's the bait? Money? Certainly not. To be seen on screen? But in movies like these? Cringing, definitely not at the subject but the tacky manner in which Khandaani Shafakhana has been handled. It pains to see Sonakshi trying to pull a cart without wheels with so much enthusiasm.”

Directed by Shilpi Dasgupta, Khandaani Shafakhan released on August 2.
