Since the trailer of Taapsee Pannu’s film Thappad released, the audience has been waiting for the film to hit theatres. This Friday, on February 28, Thappad released in theatres throughout the country and has managed to garner great reviews as well. On the first day of the release, Thappad collected a decent and expected amount at the box-office. Now, on Day 2, Thappad witnesses a substantial growth at the Box-office and has minted Rs 8.12 crores in the total collection.
Today, Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh took to his Instagram to share the Box-office collection of Thappad. Sharing the box-office collection of the film, he wrote, “#Thappad jumps on Day 2... Occupancy at metros - target audience - witnesses substantial growth... Needs to maintain the pace on Day 3... Eyes ₹ 14 cr [+/-] total in its *opening weekend*... Fri 3.07 cr, Sat 5.05 cr. Total: ₹ 8.12 cr. #India biz.” According to the post, Thappad has managed to collect Rs 8.12 crores at the box-office.
The Taapsee Pannu starrer has minted Rs 5.05 crores on the second day of its release i.e a Saturday. With a collection of Rs 3.07 crores on Friday, Day 1, Thappad has a total of Rs 8.12 crores in collection at the box-office and is expected to mint a total of Rs 14 crores approximately on Day 3. With the film having a good jump on Day 2, the Anubhav Sinha film witnesses a substantial growth on the opening weekend, but requires to maintain its pace throughout the week.
Meanwhile, Thappad is directed by Anubhav Sinha and stars Dia Mirza, Pavail Gulati and Ratna Pathak in supporting roles apart from Taapsee in the lead. SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film with three and a half stars and praised Taapsee for her acting skills.
