The Sky Is Pink, which stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in the lead roles hit the theatres on October 11 and the film had a poor opening day at the box-office. The film collected Rs 2.50 crore on the first day. The Sky Is Pink had received good reviews from the critics, but even so, it had a slow take off. Now, the second day collections are better than the opening day and the film saw a steady rise in its collection.
According to a report in Boxofficeindia.com, The Sky Is Pink saw a growth of 60% on its day 2 and collected Rs 4 crore. Adding this figure to its first-day collection of 2.50 crore, brings the net total collections of The Sky Is Pink to approximately 6.50 crore. The film, directed by Shonali Bose, revolves around a couple and their struggles as they deal with their daughter’s (Zaira Wasim) illness. Zaira Wasim’s character is inspired by late Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film 4.5 stars and wrote , “Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar are two of the most distinguished actors that Indian cinema is gifted with. Surprisingly, we have praised a lot many other actors more than them in the volumes of pages we have written. Journos, are you listening? Let's admit that today. Shonali Bose, how well you imagined Priyanka as a mother when you wrote this story, which so evidently reflects the pain you've experienced and the brave fight you've continued in going on with your life.” ALSO READ: The Sky Is Pink: Inspiration Behind Zaira Wasim's Character, Late Aisha Chaudhary’s TEDx Talk Will Leave A Dent On Your Heart
