Sara Ali Khan is making her grand Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The film, besides being in limelight because of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter’s debut, has created enough buzz, courtesy its numerous controversies related to the producers (Ronnie Screwvala taking over the film from KriArj Entertainment).
The makers dropped the trailer of the film online, just a few minutes back. While most of it is edited on a soothing background score, Sara's one-liners do catch attention. Needless to say, she is a replica of her mother, and in most of the scenes will remind you of Amrita Singh from Betaab. Sushant Singh Rajput fares well and both strike a good chemistry.
The film, which was initially supposed to release in June 2018, will finally hit theatres on Dec 7. The film is set against the backdrop of the Tsunami which created havoc in Kedarnath in June 2013. A few days back, a song titled Namo Namo, meant as a tribute to Lord Shiva, released from the film. It has been shot across Uttarakhand and is a visual spectacle.
Kedarnath was also embroiled in a controversy as the teerth purohits (priests) of the shrine town of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand’s Chardham have been protesting the film saying that a ban should be imposed on the movie as it hurts religious sentiments. Vinod Shukla, chairman, Kedar Sabha, an organisation of the priests based in Kedarnath said, while speaking to Hindustan Times, “We will launch an agitation if the movie is not banned as we have been told that it hurts the Hindu religious sentiments by promoting ‘love jihad'." However, amidst numerous controversies, the makers have managed to release the trailer. Let’s see how the audience receives it.
