This day can’t get any more special than this. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar celebrates her 87th birthday today.

Hailing from the musical family of the Mangeshkars, she managed to carve a niche for herself very early in her career. She is one of the only singers in Bollywood who has had a singing career over 7 decades. Now that's a feat!

Not just is she considered to be India's topmost female vocalist in Bollywood. She has managed to sing in over 36 different languages. In a generation where women were not given that much importance, she managed to leave a mark which is still indelible.
