Talk mellifluous and Shreya Ghoshal comes to mind. Born in Baharampur, West Bengal, the songstress began singing at 5 and participated in various reality shows before getting a break in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas.

Shreya has never looked back since then and boasts of a successful career with a range of songs to her credit. As the singer turns 33, SpotboyE.com brings to you the top ten tracks of the songstress.

Dola Re Dola (Devdas)

This was one of the first songs crooned by Shreya for Devdas (2002). Featuring Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai, the number became an instant rage. Shreya co-sung the peppy track with Kavita Krishnamurthy and it continues to resonate with music buffs.

Dheere Jalna (Paheli)

There is a reason why Shreya won her second National Award for this one. The soulful song is one of the singer’s finest.

Barso Re (Guru)

The songstress lent her vocals to Aishwarya Rai yet again in Guru (2007). Shreya’s melodious voice skilfully captured the essence of an innocent girl revelling in the rain.

Yeh Ishq Haye (Jab We Met)

Picturised amidst snow-clad mountains, it showcases Kareena Kapoor Khan dancing joyfully as she expresses the unparalleled feeling of being in love. The endearing track not only became the biggest hits f the year, but also won Shreya a National Award.

Teri Meri (Bodyguard)

Shreya proved, yet again, that there is no beating her when it comes to high-pitched euphonious songs. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s (male vocals) trademark singing style coupled with Shreya’s balanced act, make this one a winner.

Ooh La La (The Dirty Picture)

This track brings out Shreya’s naughty side. The peppy and raunchy number from The Dirty Picture (2011), is sung with a lot of gusto and cemented the notion that Shreya is a versatile singer. The track is co- sung by Bappi Lahiri.

Chikni Chameli (Agneepath)

Shreya experimented with her singing style yet again and knocked it out of the park. Chikni Chameli from Agneepath (2012) became the biggest rage in that year and till date, is a nightclub’s favourite.

Nagada Sang Dhol (Ram Leela)

The songstress collaborated with her mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Nagada Sang Dhol from Ram Leela (2013). This filmmaker-singer duo can never go wrong. Can they?

Manwa Lage (Happy New Year)

Manwa Lage is probably the stand-out number from the music album of Happy New Year (2014). The fact that the makers decided to keep it simple and soothing worked in its favour.

Deewani Mastani (Bajirao Mastani)

The song from the magnum opus, Bajirao Mastani (2015) is a tribute to the track Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and Shreya hits bull’s eye with her poignant vocals.
