The actress has done all sorts of female-led films, bold, strong, story-driven, and has managed to ace it all. From The Dirty Picture, a film that saw the actress step into the world of bold, unconventional scripts also got showered with heaps of praises for the audiences. The big screen then saw another side of actress Vidya Balan.

With Kahaani, the 42-year-old actress unleashed a side of hers that we never saw or even imagined. A thriller film boosted with her presence and performance, completely. Playing a pregnant woman in the search of her husband steering through all the complexities. From so many of her performances, this stood out for it was the nuances and layering that her character showed.

If anyone could do Kate Winslet in the Mare of East Town, it could only be Vidya Balan. Speaking through her eyes and not too many dialogues, the actress manages to captivate the audience through the film with nuanced eye contact. So many more female-led films like Shakuntala Devi, Tumhari Sulu to name a few.

Now, with Sherni, Vidya Balan will be seen in yet another path-breaking role, an unusual storyline, and an unusual role. The actress will be seen essaying the character of Vidya Vincent, a forest officer who is upright, weary, and gets work done in her own way. A woman in a man's world (forest) also on a journey to find a man-eating tigress. Her role in this film will lead the path for many and awaken the Sherni in each one of us.

In a lead role, roaring in her own style Vidya is expected to set the record straight up high and make Sherni a roaring hit! The film is set to release on 18th June on Amazon Prime Video
