British-American actress and singer Jiah Khan was a talented new starlet in the b-town who was in the spotlight for a promising debut with Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan. In a span of 10 years in the industry, Jiah appeared in a few films, however, making an impact every time with her appearance. Her suicide shook the industry with controversy and grief. Her Debut - Nishabd
Jiah aspired to be a Bollywood actress after watching Ram Gopal Verma's 'Rangeela' at the age of six. In 2007, at the age of 18, she made a promising debut with Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Jiah caught all the attention for her bold romance with the megastar.
Her Claim To Fame - Ghajini
Jiah Khan appeared in Aamir Khan's action-thriller 'Ghajini' where she played a medical student who investigates the case of Sanjay Singhania's mental illness. Jiah's performance was recognizable even in front of seasoned actors like Asin and Amir Khan.
Her Comedy Debut - Housefull
Jiah proved her versatility with Sajid Khan's comedy film Housefull. She played a supporting role as Devika, Akshay Kumar's ex-wife. 'Housefull' saw a power-packed cast like Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Malaika Arora Khan, Deepika Padukone among others.
Her Incomplete Work
Jiah had signed a few movies including Udhas Singh's 'Aap Ka Saaya', in which she was supposed to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Jiah committed suicide by hanging herself in the apartment on 3rd June 2013. It sent a series of shock waves to Bollywood causing a series of speculations, investigative searches, and arrests. The case has not yet been settled.
