Kangana Ranaut Birthday Special: 5 Times The Actress Fearlessly Took A Stand To Speak Her Mind
Finding an outspoken person in Bollywood is rare, very rare, especially the actors as a lot of their careers depend on not being too controversial or playing it safe. But if there ever was an actor who spoke her mind without worrying about the consequences, it is Kangana Ranaut. She gets into a lot of controversies at times due to her statements but backing down isn’t something that she does. On her birthday let’s look at some of the statements over the years that have been fiery irrespective of whatever her stand was.

Calling Karan Johar the flag bearer of nepotism, on his own talk show: “In my biopic, if it is ever made, you will play this stereotypical Bollywood biggie who is very snooty and completely intolerant to outsiders and flag bearer of nepotism, the movie mafia. You will have a huge part to play in my biopic. I like the antagonist in you in my biopic.” And thus began the dreaded debate on nepotism that it talked about even today, among Bollywood celebrities.

Talking about award ceremonies in the country: Kangana Ranaut’s stance on award ceremonies is quite known by all. She had bluntly said, "I will not attend award ceremonies as they are merely for commercial purposes.”

On working with the Khans: In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Kangana had openly said that she wouldn’t want to work with any of the Khans- Aamir, Salman or SRK. She said, “In fact, there is no longevity with working with Khans. It’s the other way around. Where would it take me? Can it take me a notch higher than where I already am? It cannot! What can it give me that I have already not achieved? I can’t see a single thing…if you can tell me.”

Calling out Hrithik Roshan: The actress unabashedly opened up about her secret affair with Hrithik Roshan, and their ugly spat was the issue of debate for a long time. She said on a popular talk show, "He runs away when he sees me. In fact, when we broke up in 2014 and after that one year when he was harassing me and stalking me, I complained to his father. I told him that his son is harassing me, stalking me, has hacked my account and he's not letting me get into any other relationship. So his father said I'm going to arrange a meeting for you. Since then, I'm hoping to get a meeting with him to have a two-word conversation with him and ask him that he's telling the world he doesn't know me," she said on a popular television show.

On her challenges with spoken language: At the London women summit, Kangana had unabashedly aired her views about people in Bombay being unforgiving about not knowing Hindi. “When I moved to Bombay, it was very harsh. I was nothing like what I am today. I couldn’t speak a word of English. In England, people might be very understanding about that, but in Bombay, they’re not very forgiving. ‘If you don’t speak English, how do you expect to work in Hindi films?'” she said.

We wish Kangana Ranaut a very happy birthday!
