Kareena Kapoor Khan Birthday: 5 Films That Can't Be Imagined Without The Screen Goddess

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most popular actresses of the current times. From the start of her career, she chose to not go the conventional way. Kareena chose characters that have stayed on in people’s memory. Some of these characters have become so cult and iconic that you can't imagine anyone else could have done the roles, to begin with.

Ever since she got married to Saif Ali Khan, Kareena has been even more careful in picking out new roles. Whether they are bubbly in nature or they have a stoic attitude towards life, the characters have always had a touch of Bebo to them. As she turns 38, we go down memory lane to revisit some of these iconic roles by the screen goddess.

Veere Di Wedding (2018)

Kareena brought forward a very new-age approach to forefront with her character, Kalindi Puri. A modern day girl who earns well, has a handsome boyfriend, is surrounded by a great bunch of friends, is scared of getting married and also has a baggage of family problems. Tackling all of them, she turns out to be a winner and that's what every girl in today's times wants.

3 Idiots (2009)

Kareena was the only girl in this predominantly male-dominated movie, and yet her character, Pia Sahastrabudhhe, managed to steal the scene whenever she was in it. Whether it was a drunken Bebo barging into her boyfriend's room or riding on a scooter in the barren lands of Leh or kissing Aamir Khan with her helmet on - every scene is a memorable one.

Jab We Met (2007)

Kareena had played bubbly characters before as well, but with Geet, she became every girl's imagination and every boy's girl-next-door fantasy. From being the over-talkative chirpy girl who runs away from home to be with her boyfriend, to the silent and pissed off girl who has been hurt due to rejection - Kareena is just too good. The one night spent at 'Hotel Decent' to the telephone call laden with expletives made to her then ex-boyfriend, ever scene of Kareena in the film is iconic.

Omkara (2006)

Kareena had been portraying the girl-next-door characters for quite sometime, and with her character Dolly Mishra in this film, she proved that she was much more than that. Dolly gets stuck hapless in an evil scheme laid down by the villain, so much so that her loyalty towards her husband starts being questioned. Her portrayal of varied emotions is imprinted deep in our memory.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001)

Kareena played the rich brat as Pooja Sharma in this family drama. Even though she was the second lead in the film, Kareena's iconic character as 'Poo' is still remembered. The way Poo rates boys in her college to how she uses her outgoing persona to manipulate her jiju and get her boyfriend to stay in their house is simply too hard to erase from memories.
