While we prepare to ring in the New Year with music and masti, here are the songs which are unlikely to be on anyone’s playlist:
Rock On 2
This entire album was a disappointment. The hit song, Rock On, was rehashed for the second instalment of the film. With the addition of Shraddha’s vocals, the song was reduced to a pale, lifeless version of the original. One would not believe that she is the same voice who gave us Galliyan from Ek Villain, which was the most unforgettable song of 2014.
The original song Khallas from Company, picturised on Isha Koppikar, was a superhit. Then came the new version of the track for the film Veerappan which was inspired by Dillion Francis and DJ Snake’s number Get Low. The composers, Toshi-Sharib, admitted that they were inspired by the EDM hit. But the Hindi song was an assault to both ears and eyes with Zarine Khan failing miserably in her dance moves.
Aise Na Mujhe Tum Dekho
What were the composers even thinking when they decided to rehash this melody from the film Darling Darling (1977)? The Baby Doll composers Meet Bros messed up the melody and we were left with inane lyrics and a bad tune. The song will definitely make you press the fast forward button.
A heavy dose of EDM and warped lyrics ruined the remake of the song Maahi Ve from Kaante (2002). Also the person who thought that Zarine Khan was the ideal replacement for Malaika Arora should not be forgiven. The song composed by Goura Roshin and crooned by Neha Kakkar, has no saving graces
The title track of Mohenjo Daro was as bad as the film. The music of the entire album was a major low in the career of music legend AR Rahman. Thankfully, the film tanked at the box-office and the songs did not get much air time on radio.
This song from Housefull 3 makes no sense, with lyrics like, Aaj na soya saare raat tang uthake. We agree it’s a party number, but come on guys, think of a better hook line.
Rom Rom Romantic
This song from Mastizaade hit below the belt with its sexual innuendo-laden lyrics. Composed by Amaal Mallik and crooned by Mika Singh and Armaan, this number is a wash-out. Even a gyrating Sunny Leone could not save this one.
