‘Anurag Kashyap Should Be Summoned, Payal Ghosh Is Scared And Under Tremendous Pressure’; Says Union Minister Ramdas Athawale

‘Anurag Kashyap Should Be Summoned, Payal Ghosh Is Scared And Under Tremendous Pressure’; Says Union Minister Ramdas Athawale
Actress Payal Ghosh accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of #MeToo, last week. The actress alleged that in 2014-2015 Kashyap once tried to allegedly rape her. After filing an FIR against the filmmaker, Payal now seems unhappy as there are no strict actions taken by Versova police even after filing the complaint against Anurag Kashyap. On Sunday, she told the media reporters she would go on a hunger strike if Anurag is not summoned by the Police. But now Republican Party of India (RPI) chief, Union Minister and Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Ramdas Athawale has come in support of Payal Ghosh.

Athawale confirmed that his RPI party will provide her with all the necessary security. He said Mumbai police should look into this case at the earliest. CNNNews 18 took to their Twitter handle and tweeted a video clip for the press conference which started at 2:30 PM. While addressing the media, Athawale said, “Anurag Kashyap should be summoned to the police station as soon as possible. Payal has told me that she is under tremendous pressure and she is scared.”

In the video, Mr. Athawale is seen saying, “We will protest if Anurag is not arrested.” Mr. Athawale also stated that, “Many Bollywood actresses are saying that Anurag Kashyap is good but for Payal Ghosh, he is not good, Its injustice for Payal Ghosh.” Well, his comments have got some mixed responses. 

Mr. Athawale also tweeted the same on his Twitter handle which read, “Actress Payal Ghosh's allegations against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap should be investigated.
