All across the country, devotees are celebrating the festival of Navrati 2020 with lots of excitement. Navratri is a Hindu festival that is celebrated in autumn every year. It spans nine nights and Goddess Durga is worshipped by the devotees. This year, Navratri began on October 17 and will end on October 25. As the country continues to celebrate Day 7 of Navratri 2020 with lots of zeal and enthusiasm, currently, some ‘controversial and inappropriate’ posts featuring Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh have managed to stir up a storm on social media. Twitterati vents out their anger.

On Twitter, some posts related to Navratri 2020 have managed to create a big controversy. Posted by a film studio, the ‘controversial and inappropriate’ social media posts feature big Bollywood celebrities. Twitterati disapproves on how Navratri has been portrayed through the posts, trending #boycotterosnow on the micro-blogging site. The controversial tweets not only features some sexy pictures of actors, but also sees ‘inappropriate’ captions posted along with it. While one post featured a picture of Ranveer Singh from the movie Ram-Leela: Goliyon Ki Raasleela, another saw a picture of Katrina Kaif looking bewitching in a yellow saree striking a hot pose, flaunting her back.

The tweet that featured Ranveer reads, “Be naughty, sweet toh mithai bhi hai #Navratri #dandiya,” while the picture featured of the actor was captioned, “Let’s have some majama in my pyjama.” On the other hand, the tweet where the picture featuring Katrina Kaif was shared was captioned, “Do you want to put the ‘ratri’ in my Navratri?” As several posts related to Navratri, depicting inappropriate culture were shared, netizens took to social media to slam the organisation and lash out at them. Amidst all this, the production company released an official statement on their Twitter handle. They issued an apology to everyone whose sentiments were hurt due to the posts made on their handle. Read the statement below:
