'Hang Him In Public': NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad Makes SHOCKING Claims Against Vipul Shah, The Kerala Story’s Producer
The recent release of Sudipto Sen directorial The Kerala Story has been ruling the headlines for quite some time now. Ever since its release on the big screen, it has been marred with controversies. From political leaders and celebrities having mixed reactions to the movie facing a ban in states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, the producer Vipul Shah and the entire team has been under fire for making a ‘real-life based incident’ movie with factual inaccuracies.

Amidst all the controversies, the Nationalist Congress Party leader Jitendra Awhad has added fuel to the fire by expressing how Vipul should be hanged in public for tarnishing the image of Kerala and insulting its women. Sharing the clip on his official Twitter handle, the former Maharashtra minister, wrote in Marathi, “what if you want to defame your female sisters? To show that our female sisters are stupid and act like they don't understand anything and ultimately to portray women as subordinate in a male dominated culture. This is the real truth of the movie based on Kerala. The Kerala Story stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bhihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani in lead roles. While the Sudipto Sen directorial opened with mixed reviews, it has been doing well at the box-office. As reported by DNA, the movie has crossed over Rs 50 crores in just five days. The movie focuses on the journey of three women from Kerala, who are brainwashed and forced to convert to Islam and join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
