"Hema Malini Wondered How My Film With Esha Deol Could Be Just 27 Minutes," Says Cakewalk Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee
BIG DAY for Esha Deol. It's comeback time! Her short film Cakewalk is here and awaits a premiere in the next few hours. We talk to the director Ram Kamal Mukherjee about it
He was an entertainment reporter and went on to be an editor at Stardust. "I realised that I had to do something different. I had to take myself forward. I loved telling stories, so why not on celluloid?" says Ram Kamal Mukherjee in his early moments of his interview with us at Hema Malini's residence in Juhu. We had caught up with him a couple of days back, when we met Esha Deol for an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW which we carried yesterday.
Today is a big day for Ram. Esha makes a comeback with his short film, Cakewalk, which premiers at Inox Insignia Atria Mall (Worli) at 4 pm. Naturally, Dharmendra-Hema Malini-Ahana will attend. Jeetendra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Gadhvi (Dhoom director), Arjun Sablok (Tum Jano Na Hum director), Madhoo, Raj Nayak, Nikhil Dwivedi, Arjan Bajwa, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sanjay Puran Singh will also be seen. Cakewalk revolves around a Bengali woman, Shilpa, who is passionate about baking and confectionary. However, she goes through a tussle between domestic bliss and pursing her passion. Esha will be seen playing a Bengali character for the first time.

Esha, who plays a chef in Cakewalk, shot a large portion of the film in Kolkata. SpotboyE.com has it from the horse's mouth (Esha) that there is a pact between her husband Bharat and her that one of them will always be with the baby when the other goes out to work. So yeah, Bharat was looking after their first child Radhya when Esha trooped off to shoot Cakewalk. FYI, Esha is expecting their second baby, sometime in June-July.
