“I Will Do It With Shah Rukh Khan”: Farah Khan Confirms Directorial Comeback After Decade, Sparks Fan Excitement

Veteran filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has officially announced that she’s preparing to return to film direction after more than a decade, and if she makes a movie, it will be with Shah Rukh Khan.

Farah’s last film as a director was Happy New Year in 2014, and audiences have been waiting eagerly for her next project. She rose to prominence with mainstream Bollywood entertainers like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan, which blended music, comedy, drama and action for mass audiences.

During a recent visit to actor Nakuul Mehta’s home for her YouTube show, the filmmaker confirmed that she’s planning her directorial comeback. In the candid conversation, Nakuul expressed how much he missed the kind of films she used to make. Responding to this, Farah said, “Abhi banaungi main! Abhi bachche chaley jayenge na college, phir banaungi! There is a whole petition on the internet called ‘Waapas Aao Farah Khan.’ So I think it is time, I think end of this year I will start.”

Despite her plans to return to cinema, Farah made it clear that she isn’t quitting YouTube. She joked that her online work helps her cover her children’s school fees, underlining that she will continue creating content on the platform for now. When Nakuul suggested that YouTube might even co-produce her next film, Farah was unambiguous about her condition. She stated, “If I do (direct a film), I will do it with Shah Rukh (Khan)! Otherwise, I will wait and do YouTube.”

Her declaration has ignited excitement among fans who have long hoped to see her back behind the camera in a feature film, especially in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan.
