‘Ranu Mondal Hasn’t Copied Lata Mangeshkar, People Misunderstood Her Statement,’ Says Himesh Reshammiya
Singing sensation Ranu Mondal earned overnight fame and recognition after a video of her singing veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar's song Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai went viral. The legendary singer also commented on Ranu's talent however her comment was misconstrued. Lata was quoted saying by IANS, "If anyone gets benefited from my name and work then I feel fortunate. But I also feel imitation is not a reliable and durable companion for success. By singing my songs or Kishore da's (Kumar), or (Mohd) Rafi Saab's, or Mukesh bhaiyya or Asha's (Bhosle) numbers, aspiring singers can get short-term attention. But it won't last."

Now, music composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya has come out in support of Ranu Mondal, as he said that she is gifted with this talent and no one can match Lata Mangeshkar's voice. Ranu is not copying her and Lata Mangeshkar is an inspiration for the budding singer. He was quoted saying, "I feel Ranu ji is born with certain kind of talent and she has been inspired by Lata ji. I don't feel anybody can become a legend like Lata ji. She is the best. Ranu ji has started her own beautiful journey and I feel that people misunderstood Lata ji's statement."

Ranu has been signed by Himesh Reshammiya to croon for 2-3 tracks from his upcoming movie Happy Hardy And Heer and has also been roped in by Salman Khan to sing one of the songs in Dabangg 3
