2019 is coming to an end and let's say, it has been a very successful one for Bollywood. With many films minting well at the box office, it was a very fulfilling year. Well, with content-driven films we also had many comedies that had us go ROFL. Here's a list of Best Comedies of 2019
Comedy is not everyone's cup of tea but well, this year many celebs tried their hands on this genre. Some were the regulars while some were new entrants. From films like Pagalpanti, Housefull 4, Dream Girl and many more; we had a good set of comedy films making it to the theatres this year. While we had many content-driven films making it to the theatres this year, we did see a good rise in the comic capers that had us rolling on the floor laughing. As 2019 comes to an end, it's time to look back and pick the best comedy films that tickled our funny bones and made us laugh hard.
Starting with Pagalpanti, the film starred John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and many more. Directed by Anees Bazmee this film was a laugh riot that had audiences in splits. It managed to do decent at the box office and it also brought John Abraham coming back to the genre of comedy after a series of serious films. Plus he had a company of Anil Kapoor whose comic timing has always been on point.
Housefull 4 was one of the grandest films made this year. With the ensemble cast comprising of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Karbhanda and Pooja Hegde, the fourth instalment of this franchise turned out to be one of most successful films of 2019. With songs like Bala Shaitaan Ka Sala, Housefull 4 made people go LOL with its funny punch lines.
Ayushmaan Khurrana who always picks up content-driven films tried his hands on comedy through Dream Girl. The film that had him talking to other people imitating a woman's voice had all the audiences crying whilst laughing. Ayushmann did a fab job with his comedy.
Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor starrer Total Dhamaal was another Bollywood comedy-drama that had everyone laughing like crazy. The trio came together for the very first time and it was great to watch them on screen together.
Last, the latest release, Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday had our funny bones tickling with their extra-marital affair saga. Kartik being himself pulled off some lines that were downright hilarious and the ladies have him a good company.
Well, we hope, the year 2020 is as entertaining and comedy-filled for all of us.
