Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry starrer Pardes completes 22 years today. Directed by Subhash Ghai, the film released in 1997 made fans go crazy for the epic chemistry between SRK and Mahima. Pardes marked the actresses’ debut opposite Bollywood Badshah and was well praised for the role she enacted. She also went on to collect the best female debut trophy at Filmfare awards. As the film completes 22 years today, Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry’s fans took to their social media accounts to pour out their love on the stars.

Pardes is based on the story that discusses the cultural values of the West and East portrayed by the two lead characters in the film, Arjun and Ganga, played by Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry respectively. The film revolves around the story of a wealthy businessman Kishorilal played by Amrish Puri who wants an Indian wife for his NRI son. He then later gets him engaged to Ganga, the daughter of his friend Suraj Dev played by Alok Nath from India. Later, Ganga shares a deeper bond with Arjun, who is Kishorilal’s foster son.
