The wait is over! We are here with 9XM Startruck, a
unique concept where we take stars on a food journey as they talk about their
favourite food and memories around it with Masterchef Shipra Khanna. The very
first episode, which aired today, had Shah Rukh Khan in attendance. In one of
the segments, the superstar spilled the beans on his favourite dish by his
parents.
When asked about which dish of his mother’s will he never
forget, he said that his parents were great cooks. While his father specialised
in Pathani food (he was from Peshawar), his mother would often rustle up
Hyderabadi specialities. “Nobody could cook biryani like her,” he exclaims. He
adds that while he can’t pick one dish in particular, the ‘Khatti Dal’ and the
simple ‘Dal Chawal’ made by his parents were fantastic.
He also went down memory lane and revealed that his house
always had a culture of ‘serving food’. That’s not all, he expresses a desire
to learn cooking Italian. More so because now that his kids are growing up and
if they were to be engaged in a movie late night, he would want to be able to
say, “Hey guys, it’s late in the night, should I cook you something?”
